Industry Use

Dallas is one of the largest economic hubs in Texas, with thriving industries in construction, retail, logistics, and commercial development — all of which rely on dependable storage solutions.

Contractors across Dallas use shipping containers for secure job site storage, protecting tools and materials in both urban developments and expanding suburbs like Plano and Frisco. Retailers in Garland and Mesquite often rely on containers to handle seasonal inventory overflow, while large businesses use them for temporary warehousing when facilities reach capacity.

Dallas is also a logistics and distribution center, making containers a practical choice for short-term storage near freight yards, trucking depots, or warehouses. Even residential customers turn to containers for renovations, relocations, or home workshops, appreciating their affordability and durability.

Whether you’re a small business owner in Richardson, a builder in Irving, or a homeowner in McKinney, Used Conex provides storage containers that fit your needs — available in 20ft, 40ft, and high cube sizes in Wind & Watertight, Cargo Worthy, or One-Trip condition.

Here’s what some of our customers on Google reviews are saying about their experience with us.

Bryan S
This purchase (of red conex) is my 2nd purchase of a conex. From first call to delivery everything went smoothly. Special thanks to Cheryl! Well satisfied with price and condition of container. Couldn't ask for a nicer multi haul box. No rust and was blown away when driver opened the doors. Driver did super job with placement of container and on time delivery. I will definitely be recommending Cheryl and her group in the future. Wish I had known about them 6 years ago for first conex purchase.

We’ve answered the most common questions about buying and receiving shipping containers from Used Conex. From site prep to delivery timing, you’ll find everything you need to know here.

Do you deliver across the entire Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex?

Yes — we cover Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Garland, Irving, and more.

Are containers secure for Texas heat and storms?

Absolutely — all our containers are wind and watertight, built to withstand North Texas weather.

Do you deliver to rural areas outside Dallas?

Yes — we regularly serve farms and rural properties in Waco, Tyler, and Sherman.

Do I need a special permit for placement in Dallas?

Temporary use on private property usually doesn’t require a permit, but check with your local municipality.

Am I able to pick a color?

Most customers want to choose their container color, and sometimes this is possible, but not always. You get the first container off of the stack at the intermodal depot. If you order multiple containers, it is often possible to get the color of your choice. Also, one trip containers are generally tan or beige.

Can I see the container before purchasing?

Unfortunately, customers don’t have access to the depots for liability reasons. All the containers are inspected before delivery, and we always recommend our customers to check the container at delivery. If you want to pick up your container, you will be given a release number and the depot information.

What’s the origin of shipping containers?

Containers come from different parts of the world, carrying items such as food, clothes, etc. Most containers coming into the United States are shipped from China, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany and the UK.
